The Fry Foundation says farewell to its Senior Program Officer for Health and summer intern
For over 11 years, Soo Na led the Health grantmaking program for the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation. As a funder, Soo taught us all how to be a thought partner and a collaborator with our grantees. She worked closely with her grantees to explore the most important questions and shared challenges – that when addressed through strategic collaborations –could result in better access to medical care for Chicagoans who need it the most. We will miss her disciplined presence at the Foundation.
Justin Pita served as our summer intern. In addition to helping us with data and research projects, site visits and proposal reviews, he engaged us in rich conversations about racial equity and social justice. He is a rising sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Sociology with a concentration in Law and Society. He was a former participant and employee of Fry Foundation grantee High Jump, which offers academic support for middle school students. His internship was part of a larger Foundation intern program that included Cleveland Avenue (CAFE), Pritzker Traubet Foundation, Chicago Community Trust, Kaplan Foundation, Julian Grace Foundation, Circle of Service Foundation, Chicago Public Education Fund, JB&MK Pritzker Family Foundation, Lefkofsky Family Foundation.
